This was a spectacular read, Gregory.

"What she gave me was practice at saying goodbye--saying goodbye with grace and optimism."

I can relate to this so much. Though, not a pigeon, my great-grandmother's passing taught me exactly that. Though there wouldn't be more great-grandmother's, there would be others in life who I could relate to. ❤️ Thank you for being so vulnerable in this story. And thank you to Ben, Clarissa, and Liza.

Thank you so much, Tanner! I am sorry that you lost your great-grandmother, but happy that there was something to be learned there. It feels sometimes like life is two steps forward and one step backward. But that backward step prepares us for what is to come. I appreciate your sympathy. ❤️

This was delightful. The whole wide world and our interaction with it is one of lessons. They come unbidden, full of surprise or sorrow,, wonder, joy, embarrassment, guilt. The whole gamut of our human nature revealed, if we are very, very brave and willing to be taught. Thank you for your story.

Thank you, Jacqueline! This is beautifully expressed. All of that is in here, I think. I will try to continue to be brave and remain open to more lessons.
